Need a hand, Inspector?

The kettle is on. Your answer is probably below.

Where can I get Much Fibbing?

It's out now for iPhone and iPad. Download Much Fibbing on the App Store. Android is coming soon to Google Play.

How much does it cost? Is there a free version?

£3.99 in the UK, once, on the App Store. Prices vary by country or region; check the App Store for your local price. That buys all seven cases, with every puzzle included. There's no free version or trial, and no adverts, in-app purchases or subscriptions.

Which phones get on-device AI?

iPhones and iPads with Apple Intelligence switched on (iPhone 15 Pro or newer), and recent Android phones with Gemini Nano. Every other phone gets suspects with hand-written lines, so you can still investigate. They have plenty to say, including about IKEA.

The suspects give short or scripted answers

Check Apple Intelligence (or Gemini Nano) is switched on in your device's settings, then look in the game's Settings under “Who voices the suspects”. On Android, the game may offer to download Gemini Nano there first; Wi-Fi helps.

I'm stuck on a puzzle

Every puzzle has up to three hints, gentlest first. If you'd rather not, “Skip it” hands over the clue for a sip of tea (free once your tea's gone cold), so no puzzle can stop you solving a case. You can replay any puzzle from your notebook, just for fun.

How do I open the next case?

Close the case you're on by naming a culprit. You don't have to be right: the next case file arrives either way.

What happens when my tea goes cold?

The teapot counts your questions, not the minutes, so take all the time you like. When it's cold you can still search, solve puzzles and make your accusation. You just can't ask anything else.

The voices sound robotic

The game uses your device's built-in voices, and better British ones are free to download. On iPhone: Settings › Accessibility › Spoken Content › Voices › English, then download the UK voices (Serena, Kate, Martha, Arthur and Daniel; pick “Enhanced” if offered). On Android: Settings › System › Languages › Text-to-speech output › Speech Services by Google, then install English (United Kingdom). In the game, Settings › Voice casting lets you choose who plays whom.

There's no sound

The game respects your silent switch. Check it, then the game's Settings: “Sound effects”, “Birdsong and scenery” and “Read replies aloud” switch on and off separately.

Do I need an account or an internet connection?

No account and no internet. Once the game is installed, you can play it in airplane mode.

Will I lose my progress?

Progress is saved on your device as you play, and each case keeps its own save. It isn't backed up anywhere else, so deleting the app deletes your saves. To start a case again, use Settings › Restart this case.

Can I make the text bigger, or turn off the wobble?

Yes. Our accessibility page covers text size, contrast, reduced motion, screen readers and more.

Something else?

Write to hello@andrewtech.co.uk and we'll get back to you. It helps to say which phone you're on and which case you're playing. Our privacy policy is short, too.
